BEIRUT, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Monday that his country will work on boosting its economic and trade ties with Australia, the Presidency website said.

"Lebanon will work on boosting its economic relations with Australia despite the great distance between the two countries," Aoun said during his meeting with Vanessa Lay, deputy of the Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, and a delegation from the Lebanese Australian Chamber of Commerce.

Aoun also called on the Lebanese living in Australia to keep their strong ties with Lebanon.
